Name construction

A tabaxi's name carries four parts: the clan name (translated into Common — Sha'Ssir for the Pointed Ears, Rha'Khaz for the Sharp Claws), the childhood name (a single sharp syllable one could shout across a clearing, such as Ssi, Khar, Tsa, Rhi, Mish, Zhaa), the adult name (at the rite of passage, the childhood name becomes the root of a longer name joined by an apostrophe — the apostrophe marks the rite; a name without one is a child's name), and finally an earned title describing a deed or role, never given but won (Dawnwatcher, Spinebreaker, She-Who-Sees-Beneath-the-Moon). Hissing consonants: aspirated H, KH, rolled R (often doubled as RR), J; sibilant consonants: S, SS, SH, Z, ZH, TS; vowels mainly a and i, often lengthened (aa, ii), with no silent e; the apostrophe marks a glottal stop, like a brief hiss between two sounds. The Pointed Ears favor sibilance (S, SH, Z, i), while the Sharp Claws favor the growl (KH, RR, H, a).
