Any creature bitten by a rat must succeed on a DC 12 Constitution check at the end of combat. On a failure, it contracts a disease whose symptoms appear after 2d6 hours. The victim is Weakened and loses 1d4 hit points every 24 hours, which cannot be healed by rest. A new DC 15 Constitution check may be made each day to try to end the disease. Lost hit points are then recovered at a rate of 1 per day of rest.
